O zakładzie

Podstawowy cel działań zakładu to rozwijanie i wdrażanie ekosystemowego podejścia do zarządzania  zasobami, tj. uwzględnianie wpływu czynników środowiska na zasoby żywe i wpływu działalności rybackiej na eksploatowane zasoby i ekosystem.

Realizacja tej tematyki odbywa się w ramach następujących zagadnień badawczych:

  • Biologia i znaczenie populacji ryb w ekosystemie Morza Bałtyckiego, w tym:
    • określanie wpływu czynników naturalnych i antropogenicznych na procesy życiowe i zachowanie się ryb (m.in. reprodukcja, wzrost, odżywianie, migracje),
    • analiza wybranych parametrów i charakterystyk ryb jako bio-wskaźników zmian zachodzących w środowisku,
    • genetyczna charakterystyka eksploatowanych zasobów ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem możliwości identyfikacji populacji.
  • Określanie dynamiki i produkcji stad ważniejszych gatunków ryb odławianych przez polskie rybołówstwo bałtyckie i dalekomorskie, jako podstawa do racjonalnej eksploatacji ich zasobów.
