Abstract.
The species composition of leeches and their density and biomass were studied in the Wigry Lake littoral zone (northeast Poland). Thirteen species were recorded including two species described recently, i.e., Piscicola pojmanskae and P. pomorskii. The most abundant species was Helobdella stagnalis (51% and 16% of the abundance and biomass of Hirudinea, respectively).
