Abstract.
In the paper, the design of the MIR-75 net for catching flatfish fry in the coastal waters and the manner of collecting representative samples with the net are presented. Additionally, it is also concluded  that the appropriate measure of the catch results for demersal fishes, making it possible to compare collected materials with the results of other researchers, is �the number of fry specimens caught per one square meter of area trawled with the net�.
