ICES Service Award for Dr. Piotr Margoński from the NMFRI

Dr. Piotr Margoński chaired the Working Group on Zooplankton Ecology of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES WGZE) for two terms (in 2012-2017). In recognition of his contribution to the group’s work he received the ICES Service Award. The Working Group on Zooplankton Ecology, operating for over 25 years, is one of the oldest ICES expert groups. About thirty representatives of several Member States participate in its work every year. As the name suggests, the interests of the group are related to the ecology of zooplankton and its role in the functioning of marine ecosystems.
