Dr. Katarzyna Piwosz, Professor of NMFRI, Honoured with a Medal from the Polish Society of Microbiologists

Dr. Katarzyna Piwosz has been awarded a commemorative medal featuring the image of Prof. Odo Bujwid, an eminent Polish bacteriologist, issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the Polish Society of Microbiologists (PTM). The medal was awarded following a nomination submitted by the PTM Presidium in recognition of her contribution to disseminating knowledge in the field of environmental microbiology, including her role in establishing the Society’s Environmental Microbiology Section and her active involvement in its activities.

The Polish Society of Microbiologists was established on 31 October 1927. Its mission is to promote the development of microbiological sciences and raise awareness of achievements in microbiology. The Society carries out its mission by organising congresses, scientific meetings, courses, lectures and scientific paper competitions; publishing and supporting the publication of scientific journals, books and other publications in the field of microbiology; assessing the state and needs of microbiology in Poland and representing its interests before state authorities; and cooperating with related scientific associations in Poland and abroad.

Our warmest congratulations!
