50 years of NOAA and NMFRI scientific cooperation in fisheries ecology (1974-2024)

50 years of NOAA and NMFRI scientific cooperation in fisheries ecology (1974-2024)

50 years ago NOAA and NMFRI signed an impressively important contract on scientific cooperation in fisheries ecology (1974-2024). It gave Poland extraordinary opportunities for strategic cooperation with American institutes and scientific development. This Jubilee is an occasion to thank all the employees of the NMFRI Plankton Sorting and Identification Center for their extremely hard work and professionalism. The Center is a team with unique, worldwide competence in the determination of planktonic organisms. Special thanks should also be sent to NOAA representatives, especially to Dr. Kenneth Sherman and Dr. Jon Hare for their extraordinary persistence and perseverance in supporting this cooperation.

The official celebration of the 50th anniversary of scientific cooperation between NOAA and NMFRI in fisheries ecology (1974-2024) took place on 22 April 2024 in Szczecin, Poland. Official part of the ceremony was followed by scientific presentations.
