Scientific interests

Analysis of the phenomena and processes which occur in the processing of aquatic animals. The main interests are focused on the mechanization of processing sea and freshwater raw materials – mainly fish, for food and feeds.

The detailed field of research includes:

  • research into morphometric and mechanical properties of fish and other aquatic animals as the bases of designing machines,
  • mechanization and automation of processing large marine fish,
  • methods of processing and construction of machines for processing crustaceans (krill) and cephalopods (squid),
  • mechanization of small fish processing,
  • freshwater fish processing.

2020-2021Replacement of the production of Baltic cod products with new products from other fish species in fish processing plants due to the introduction of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1248 regarding the ban on cod fishing in the Baltic Sea from 22 July 2019.
