Adam Buczyński has passed away

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Adam Buczyński at the age of 77.

A distinguished employee of the Institute, he was employed on the r/v Baltica as a watch engineer. A man of the sea, devoted to his work and people, he will forever remain in our memory as a person of great heart and courage – it was thanks to his quick and decisive reaction that a dog on an ice floe was saved – Baltic, who became a member of the crew. He was not only an outstanding specialist, but also a colleague who could always be counted on.

The funeral ceremony will take place on July 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the parish of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Lębork.

We share the pain of his family, friends, and all those who had the honor of knowing him.

May he rest in peace!

The management of NMFRI, the crew of r/v Baltica, and the employees of the Institute.
