Dr. Katarzyna Piwosz from the NMFRI becomes the best ambassador of the International Society of Microbial Ecology

We are pleased to announce that  Dr. Katarzyna Piwosz from the NMFRI Department of Fisheries Oceanography and Marine Ecology received the award for the best ambassador of the International Society of Microbial Ecology (ISME) for the years of 2019-2020.

The  International Society of Microbial Ecology was founded in 1970 and brings together scientists from all over the world. The presidium of the society are world-class leaders of the discipline. The ISME ambassadors for particular countries are invited to perform this function by the president, and their mission is to support scientific events related to the ecology of microorganisms. Dr. Piwosz was invited to take the position of the Polish ambassador of ISME in 2017 and, as part of her activities, received financial support for 5 scientific conferences. The Ambassador of the Year Award is granted once every two years and is a testimony to the world’s outstanding activity.
