Fisheries conference “Opportunities and threats to the growth of consumption of Polish fish”

On 18–19.01.2019 at the International Green Week Berlin, the scientific conference entitled “Opportunities and threats to the growth of consumption of Polish fish” took place. The conference is the continuation of the series from previous years, which became very popular among representatives of the fisheries, scientific and public sectors from various EU countries and not only.

The co-organizers of the conference were the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute in Gdynia together with the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, the Inland Fisheries Institute in Olsztyn, and the Sturgeon Producers Organization in Toruń.

The National Marine Fisheries Research Institute representatives delivered the following presentations at the conference:

  • Fish, how to encourage consumers to eat more of them– Dr.Eng. Joanna Szlinder-Richert, M.Eng. Agnieszka Góra;
  • New trends in the development of technology for the processing of fisheries and aquaculture products– Dr.Eng. Olga Szulecka;
  • The role of consumer research in marketing and promotion of new fish products– Dr. Marcin Rakowski, Tomasz Kulikowski, MSc.;
  • Perception of Baltic fish in the Polish society– Dr.Eng. Iwona Psuty.
