NMFRI Representatives at World Aquaculture 2026

Representatives of the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute (NMFRI) participated in World Aquaculture Singapore 2026, the largest aquaculture conference held this year. The conference programme featured 480 speakers and 561 scientific presentations. During the event, NMFRI delegates presented the results of research conducted in the fields of aquaculture biology, ecology, and economics.

Dr. Katarzyna Nadolna-Ałtyn and Dr. Joanna Pawlak from the NMFRI Department of Fisheries Resources presented scientific papers focusing on Atlantic salmon in the Baltic Sea:

  • Nadolna-Ałtyn K., Pawlak J., Podolska M., Lejk A.M. “Changes in Condition of Salmon Salmo salar from the Southern Baltic Sea and Blue Growth Assumption”

and

  • Pawlak J., Nadolna-Ałtyn K., Podolska M., Lejk A.M. “Impact of Marine Organisms on the Potential Marine Culture of Atlantic Salmon Salmo salar in the Baltic Sea Based on the Diet Composition of Wild Individuals”

These presentations were prepared within the framework of the SALcon/25 project, funded by the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARMA) with support from the European Union under the European Funds for Fisheries 2021–2027 programme.

Dr. Adam Mytlewski, Dr. Marcin Rakowski, and Tomasz Kulikowski from the NMFRI Department of Fisheries Economics presented research findings on the market and development potential of selected aquaculture sectors:

Participation in World Aquaculture Singapore 2026 provided NMFRI representatives with an opportunity to present the Institute’s research achievements, exchange experiences with the international scientific community, and discuss future directions for aquaculture development in Europe and worldwide. The conference also served as an important platform for strengthening relationships with scientific and industry partners, fostering future research collaboration and knowledge transfer.
