Impacts of globalization on contemporary use and management of marine resources

On 20th May 2016, Prof. Włodzimierz M. Kaczyński from the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington in Seattle gave a guest lecture:  Impacts of globalization on contemporary use and management of marine resources.

Professor Kaczyński worked at the Department of Fisheries Economics of the National Maritime Fisheries Research Institute as an assistant professor (1969-1977). A graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk (1966). He wrote and defended his doctoral thesis as the University of Gdańsk grant holder (1973). He was engaged in research for various institutes all over the world, like the Korea Maritime Institute in Seoul where he researched the Arctic, resources use policies in Africa, help programmes for the developing countries as well as analysis of fishing and aquaculture in South America. He conducted research in Guinea Bissau for USAID-TIPS, the World Bank and other international humanitarian aid organisations. A participant of the analyses of the marine sector in Guinea (Conakry) and Mauritania. He was engaged in many other projects and seminars all over the world.
