On 7th November 2017, the BSAC Executive Committee meeting was held at the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute. The BSAC ExCom members were invited by the NMFRI Director, Dr. Emil Kuzebski.
The main aim of the meeting was to discuss the issue of the selectivity in the demersal fishery, i.e. technical solutions to current problems. Conclusions and recommendations from the BSAC will give fishermen increased flexibility and better possibilities to modify the fishing gear used in demersal fisheries, whilst at the same time ensuring full accountability of what the fishermen catch.
The speakers represented the Baltic Sea research institutes from Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Poland.
