The National Marine Fisheries Research Institute starts to study the market of fish products in the area of the Local Fisheries Group “Szczecin Lagoon”, covering the area of: Świnoujście, Wolin, Międzyzdroje and Stepnica. The project will be implemented under Priority 4 of the Fisheries and Sea Operational Programme. It aims to increase the competitiveness of the local fisheries sector by improving the skills of fishers and companies involved in the supply chain of fish from local catches. NMFRI activities will include interviews with local fishers, wholesalers, fish shops and catering, as well as consumer research, conducted in the form of focused group interviews. Based on the opportunities and barriers identified, in order to increase and make the sale of fish from local fisheries more attractive, a report will be produced in the form of an accessible information brochure. The knowledge gained in the project will be shared with fishermen, traders and restaurateurs at two training conferences in 2021.
