During the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition IPITEX held in Bangkok on 2-6 February 2017, the NMFRI presented an innovative vacuum gutting machine for whole or deheaded carps and other cyprinids. The National Research Council of Thailand awarded the inventors of the device the IPITEX 2017 gold medal.
The subject of the invention is a vacuum gutting machine for whole or deheaded cyprinid fish, designed for operation in small processing units and in mobile container processing units. Due to this reason, it possesses a modular structure which consists of three modules: an abdominal cutting module, a bowel suction module (vacuum pump and suction nozzle) and a tank for the removed viscera. Such a structure of the device enables any spatial configuration for the individual modules, which is essential in case of small processing units.
